“Today, 58 years later, there’s so many great memories to celebrate.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Daily Meditations

Richard Rohr, O.F.M.

Mysticism does not defeat the soul; moralism (read "perfectionism") always does. Mysticism invites humanity forward; moralism excludes and condemns itself and most others.

Illuminata, pp. 46-47

Marianne Williamson

Prayer is the return of the prodigal son as we return our minds to the light from whence we came. All that matters is that we come home now, and with each of our prayers, the Father rejoices. Mystical power stems from two basic ideas: One, do not mentally resist the darkness. Two, know that the light is coming; do not allow faithlessness to slow the process down. The purpose of prayer is the alignment of the mind with the thoughts and the will of God.

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Hazelden Foundation

Meditation for the Day “I will take the most crowded day without fear. I believe that God is with me and controlling all. I will let confidence be the motif running through all the crowded day. I will not get worried, because I know that God is my helper. Underneath are the everlasting arms. I will rest in them, even though the day is full of things crowding in upon me. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may be calm and let nothing upset me. I pray that I may not let the things in the world control me and choke out spiritual things.”
