A Wave

August 23, 2025

“maybe it's time for an update, upgrade or new version.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Read — the readings that opened the day

1

Emotional Equilibrium

Richard Rohr

“Unfelt feelings, like any other essential bodily processes, do not go away even if we try to repress them. They eventually catch up with us and get our attention somehow; often in the form of mental health issues, burnout, addiction or pain. To get back to our core self - the wise, creative, steady, compassionate & connected present-day self, we need to learn to be aware of all our feelings, and to express them as they happen, as best we can. Learning to express our feelings is a key part of our recovery process; to be open, honest and transparent to those closest to us.”

Excerpt From Emptiness Dancing

Adyashanti

“Enlightenment means waking up to what you truly are and then being that. Realize and be, realize and be. Realization alone is not enough. The completion of Self-realization is to be, which means to act, do, and express what you realize. This is a very deep matter, a whole new way of life—living in and as reality instead of living out the programmed ideas, beliefs, and impulses of your dreaming mind.”

Meditation for the Day / Prayer for the Day

Hazelden Foundation

“Do not let little things divert you from the path. Do not be overcome by the small trials and vexations of each day. Try to see the purpose and plan to which all is leading. If, when climbing a mountain, you keep your eyes on each stony or difficult place, how weary is your climb. But if you think of each step as leading to the summit of achievement from which a glorious landscape will open out before you, then your climb will be endurable and you will achieve your goal. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may realize that life without a goal is futile. I pray that I may find the good life worth striving for.”
