“Gail and I left transported by Love.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Opened to Grace

God is everywhere. We find God in the vast array of colors in a sunset, the waves in the ocean, the smile of a baby, the majesty of a waterfall, the graceful flight and song of the wren. We find God in human love & friendship. But we see God not only outside us, but also within us—in our inner room. The inner room is a figure of speech for our innermost self, our deepest self where we are alone with God. God is ready to talk to us anytime, anywhere. We emerge from our inner room full of love, ready to reach out to others with a visit, a phone call, or an apology. Have you found your inner room? What steps do you take to get there? God is always waiting.

A Deep Breath of Life

Alan Cohen

What world is real to you? The world that most people consider real is fraught with illusions. Money, fame, power, sex & material security do not offer true reward & substance; they dissolve as soon as the tiniest light is shed on them. While the ‘world’ tells us that these commodities are worth living & dying for, those who have them are often desperate for love, relationships, communication, community, and peace of mind. The real world is the world of kindness, caring, vision & service. All of these qualities are attributes of our divine nature. As children of God, we can be only what God is, and that is everything that is good. We are born of light, and we return to the light. To live in light is to live in the real world. Just for today, I will take time to sit quietly and ask God to show me the real world. to let me not forget my true nature and origin; to live in the real world of love.

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Meditation for the Day When trouble comes, do not say: "Why should this happen to me?" Leave yourself out of the picture. Think of other people and their troubles and you will forget about your own. Gradually get away from yourself and you will know the consolation of unselfish service to others. After a while, it will not matter so much what happens to you. It is not so important any more, except as your experience can be used to help others who are in the same kind of trouble. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may become more unselfish. I pray that I may not be thrown off the track by letting the old selfishness creep back into my life.
