“It struck me; there IS a Power that’s been available my entire life.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Islands of Sanity

Richard Rohr

Contemplation may start in silence and solitude, but it never stops there. We find ourselves hungry for communion with others. We might come together to sit in silence; to hush the noise of a million monkey-minds clacking to the beat of keyboards, billboards, headlines hankering for our attention. Where is peace? Sitting quietly, in self-honesty & love, we find ourselves joined by The Presence. Love, Compassion, Forgiveness is there, deep within us. We then turn and open towards the Light; to the One who helps us create islands of sanity and peace in our troubled world.

Meditation for the Day

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Be calm, be true, be quiet. Do not get emotionally upset by anything that happens around you. Feel a deep, inner security in the goodness and purpose in the universe. Be true to your highest ideals. Do not let yourself slip back into the old ways of reacting. Stick to your spiritual guns. Be calm always. Do not talk back or defend yourself too much against accusation, whether false or true. Accept abuse as well as you accept praise. Only God can judge the real you.

3

Prayer for the Day

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

I pray that I may not be upset by the judgment of others. I pray that I may let God be the judge of the real me.
