A Wave

January 21, 2025

“The chase for achievement & success had caused my unhappiness.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

Daily Meditations

Richard Rohr

We are continually being challenged to stop arguing with reality & instead soften into what is. By accepting reality, we find a greater capacity to love what is. Over time, I learned to let go of my fantasy of the perfect life, the perfect family; to let go, and find beauty, meaning, and wholeness in the heart of reality. Today, I will let love remake me again and again; to take our rightful place on the throne of what is.

A Deep Breath of Life

Alan Cohen

The illusion of the world is that other people have the power to make us into something we are not. The truth is that we are already everything; no one has the power to add to, or diminish, our wholeness. In spite of this fundamental reality, many of us have spent a great deal of time chasing illusions that the power rests somewhere other than deep inside. People may have worldly power, but that is not the same as spiritual power. In the long run, only spiritual power has any meaning or worth and you have all of it. Today, help me remember that the God I seek lives within me, as me.

Awareness

Anthony DeMello

God would be much happier if we were transformed than if we worshipped. He would be much more pleased by our loving than by our adoration. As we open to and embrace love, we are transformed into love.

Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Meditation for the Day I will take the most crowded day without fear. I believe that God is with me and controlling all. I will let confidence be the motif running through all the crowded day. I will not get worried, because I know that God is my helper. Underneath are the everlasting arms. I will rest in them, even though the day is full of things crowding in upon me. Prayer for the Day I pray that I may be calm and let nothing upset me. I pray that I may not let material things control me and choke out spiritual things.
