Ride the WavesReflections by Steve L.

A Wave

December 21, 2024

“Taking time for reflection this morning, I remembered my sponsor telling me that every breath is a gift; to sit and count my breaths to get centered.”

Three readings. A song that says the rest. And inspiration for whatever this day is here to teach.

The Gift of Wonder: Creative Practices for Delighting in God, P 128–129

Christine Aroney-Sine

“Breathe in the breath of God Breathe out your cares and concerns Breathe in the love of God Breathe out your doubts and despairs Breathe in the life of God Breathe out your fears and frustrations We sit quietly before the One who gives life and love to all creation We sit in awe of the One who formed us in our mother’s womb We sit at peace surrounded by the One who fills every fibre of our being.”

Excerpt from Everything is Buddha

Noelle Oxenhandler

“Just for today, I open my heart & Spirit to the five Spiritual Powers: ~Faith – Saddhā: translated as confidence. ~Energy – Viriya: understood as effort, engagement, perseverance, and courage. ~Mindfulness – Sati: the present-moment recollection: the factor that balances the other powers. ~Collectedness – Samādhi: thought of as unification of mind. ~Wisdom – Paññā: translated as insight or understanding.

Meditation for the Day / Prayer for the Day

Hazelden Foundation

“In this time of quiet meditation, follow the pressure of the Lord's leading. In all decisions to be made today, yield to the gentle pressure of your conscience. Stay or go as that pressure indicates. Take the events of today as part of God's planning and ordering. He may lead you to a right decision. Wait quietly until you have an inner urge, a leading, a feeling that a thing is right, a pressure on your will by the spirit of God. I pray that today I may try to follow the inner pressure of God's leading. I pray that I may try to follow my conscience and do what seems right today.”
